About Erin Gibson
I am a figurative oil painter based in Pennsylvania, exploring the deeply human themes of identity, emotion, the body, and transformation. My work invites viewers to sit with the complexity of what it means to inhabit a life — to feel, to endure, to become.
A lifelong artist, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art from the State University of New York at Purchase in 2001. Over the decades since, my practice has continued to deepen, guided by a commitment to painting the interior landscape of human experience through the figure.
My current body of work — New Sense of Purpose, Resilience, Vessel, and Goddess Head — reflects an ongoing inquiry into how we carry ourselves through change. Each piece is an original oil painting, one of a kind, made to live with and be lived alongside.
