Lady In White began with the image of an actress whose long sheets of black hair became a source of fascination and possibility. Part celebration, part reclamation, the painting gives form to the validation and relief from another person’s example: something admired, imagined, and perhaps briefly tried on.
Yet she remains elusive. Her quiet presence offers no complete story, leaving room for the viewer’s own associations. She can be admired without being fully understood.
